Alan Geller was born in 1955 and grew up in Rockaway Beach, New York. He has a degree in civil and environmental engineering from Rutgers University but has been an accomplished business person and entrepreneur outside his field for the past 25 years. He has lived in several states in the U.S., including New Jersey, Georgia, Florida, and Pennsylvania and now makes his home in Burlington, Ontario (with frequent trips to Key Largo in the winter) with his wife, Deborah, and their yellow Lab, Zeke, a constant and welcome presence at their home and office. When not on the Net researching, or helping people deal with their own scary diagnoses through his website and doing speaking engagements, Alan is most likely to be found outdoors enjoying many different pursuits in spite of his diagnosis. He is an avid fly fisherman and a recent, and hard-bitten, convert to golfing. Although Scary Diagnosis is his first book, it won’t be the last. He already has two more projects underway.
